![]() The needs of children have also been embedded within the broader context of human rights work in EU CSDP missions. Its presence in Moldova supports the fight against the sexual exploitation of children. The OSCE had tasked its mission in Ukraine (SMM) with monitoring the situation of children. But smaller missions as well, such as the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), monitor and report on attacks on children and serious violations of their rights. The UN mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) currently has the largest child protection team, with staff at mission headquarters and eight field offices. UNICEF is a critical partner for peace operations in its work on child protection.
